Dr. Dennis Gutierrez is a scoliosis physical therapist, Rigo Concept (BSPTS) Teacher and Therapist, and experienced pediatric physical therapy specialist. With a career in physical therapy dating back to 1997, he has been helping individuals with scoliosis, kyphosis, and posture-related conditions since 2014.

Dr. Gutierrez has pursued specialized scoliosis training with internationally recognized experts across Europe, developing expertise in several established approaches to scoliosis-specific exercise and rehabilitation.

Specialized Training in Scoliosis

​

• Rigo Concept (BSPTS): Completed initial training with Dr. Manuel Rigo in Barcelona, Spain, in 2014, followed by advanced training with Dr. Rigo and Beth Janssen, PT, in the Netherlands in 2017.

​

• Schroth Method: Completed certification training at the Katharina-Schroth-Asklepios-Klinik in Germany with Axel Hennes, PT, in 2019.

​

• SEAS (Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis): Completed basic certification training with Michele Romano, PT.

​

• Lyon Method: Completed training in this French approach to scoliosis treatment with Dr. Jean-Claude de Mauroy.

​

Since 2022, Dr. Gutierrez has served as an accredited Rigo Concept (BSPTS) Teacher for the Asia-Pacific region.

Education and Professional Training

​

Dr. Gutierrez earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from De La Salle University–Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines in 1997. In 2011, he completed a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, with a concentration in pediatric and neurologic physical therapy, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

In 2024, he earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare with Distinction from Northern Arizona University.

His additional professional credentials and training include:

• Certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (Pediatrics) through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association.

• Certified in Neonatal Touch and Massage Therapy.

​

• Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association.

​

• Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (Pediatrics).

With decades of physical therapy experience and specialized training in scoliosis management, Dr. Gutierrez brings a broad clinical perspective to helping patients and families better understand scoliosis and explore individualized approaches to care.
